Chris established Genius People in 2017, bringing his recruitment career that began in 2004 to new heights.

Specialising in Executive Search across professional services, Chris has a strong focus on Insolvency and Forensics. He has a particular passion for career strategy and counseling, helping individuals find their unique genius. Chris values honesty and authenticity, dedicating himself to genuinely helping people find fulfillment and passion in their careers. Outside of work, he is an avid supporter of Newcastle United and cherishes time with his beautiful family.

Lien joined Genius People in 2021 as a Talent Coach and the "Diva of Details.”

Her keen insight into people and professional services facilitates meaningful career progressions for her candidates and she is highly valued by clients for managing culture and retention. Lien is passionate about fostering a positive team culture, raising her two boys, and enjoying her morning coffee. She is dedicated to helping others achieve their career goals through meticulous attention to detail and genuine care.

James Blackburn is an executive recruiter with over 20 years’ experience in M&A advisory, professional services, and senior-level hiring. A former Managing Director, he brings firsthand insight into what makes teams thrive - especially during growth, change, or complex transitions. At Genius People, James leads searches across Corporate Finance, Accounting, and Insolvency, often working closely with founders, CFOs, and boards to shape high-performing teams. He understands the value of discretion, alignment, and good timing, having hired on both sides of mergers and acquisitions. Outside work James is a proud dad of two, an ever-hopeful Burnley FC supporter, and a passionate contributor to his local community where he coaches junior football and mentors young people. He believes the right hire can change everything and that recruitment is most powerful when it’s personal.
