The opportunity Working as Senior Analyst in the Forensic team, you will be assigned tasks in the technical areas of an engagement or project to assist in the completion of client service work.
You will be responsible for knowing and understanding the Firm’s service approach, professional requirements and lines of business; and will receive ongoing training in Forensic, Dispute Litigation and Valuation Assignments from industry leading mentors.
As your ability to assume greater levels of responsibility is demonstrated, more complex technical areas may be assigned. Some of the areas within Dispute Litigation Support Services may have you working on tasks such as:
- Expert Reports;
- Valuation Services including intangible assets like PI and client lists;
- Economic Loss Assessment
- Court-ready reports and opinions;
- Financial Record Investigations
- Preparing asset and liability schedules;
- Compulsory Acquisition
- Reconstructed Accounts
- Shareholder Disputes
- Fraud and Asset Tracing Investigations
- Partnership Disputes and Family Law Matters
- Deceased Estates and Proceeds Crime
Key responsibilities of the role The main tasks involved with the position are as follows:
- Participation with senior leadership on dispute litigation and valuation engagements of various clients;
- Management and leaderships of junior staff (coaching and mentoring);
- Preparation of initial valuation model inputs, working papers and research for both valuation and forensic projects;
- Development of technical skills including understanding of basic elements of financial models used and ability to perform basic research as assigned by senior leadership;
- Identifying and communicating with the senior leadership, gaps in documentation provided and issues identified during all phases of a project;
- Preparation of basic components of narrative reports on projects based on work performed; and
- Establishing and maintaining the highest standards in Dispute Litigation thought leadership including timely communication, participation in staff meetings, participation in client meetings and activities that enhance practice growth
The successful applicant The role will suit someone with the following skills, experience and attributes:
- 3-6 years of experience working in either a top-tier or mid-tier professional services firm;
- Experience in either forensics / dispute litigations / valuations / audit / private clients;
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field;
- Professional qualification in CA / CPA / CFA;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent time management and organisational skills;
- Able to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently;
- Detail-orientated;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to understand assignments and follow directions;
- High proficiency in MS Excel; and
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
